Roy R. Reid
June 14, 1933 to Sept. 16, 2013

Roy R. Reid, 80, of Anderson died at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born June 14, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio to Herald and Charlotte (Morrissey) Reid.

He served in the US Marine Corps as a Staff Sgt.

He was a truck driver for Atlas Ready Mix for 25 years.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; past Commander of American Legion Post 46 9 in Frankton; member of AMVETS Post # 0692; member of VFW Post 266 and 40/8 Club Voiture 510 he enjoyed boxing.

Survivors include his wife, Nila (Whirl) Reid of Anderson whom he married April of 2012 in Virginia; children: Dawn (Curt) Smith, Robin Stewart, Tracy Reid-Muhlhauser, Jackie Haney, Victoria Reid, Ronnie Reid, Debbie (David) Hollingsworth; stepchildren, Cris Schoup and Gene King; sister, Barbara (Richard) Holman; several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Roy in 1978 and two grandsons Roy and Brent.

Service of Christian Burial at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 20, 2013 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Monsignor Robert Sell officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 2 PM. Entombment will be in East Maplewood Cemetery Mausoleum with military graveside rites provided by American Legion Post 469.

The family would like to thank Premier Hospice for their loving care and kindness.
