Obituary

Worcester – Dorothy J. Farrand “Dottie” 62, of Worcester, died in her home on September 15th after a long illness.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 32 years Charles McCarthy of Worcester; a daughter, Danielle M. McCarthy of Bayonne, NJ; a grandson, Zachary Rondon and many nephews and nieces. She was born in Dover, NH, daughter of the late Richard and Beverly (Hale) Farrand and is also predeceased by a brother, Richard Farrand and a sister, Joyce Rose.

Dorothy worked for many years at Saint Vincent Hospital in the capacity of a nurse’s aide. Her kindness and compassion also extended into her personal life as well. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She had a big heart that was full of love and personality that would light up the room. She enjoyed many things during her life, but she was happiest when she was doing something as simple as spending quality time with her family. She also enjoyed shopping and taking trips to the beach, where she felt most free. People who knew Dottie will always remember her as a “fighter”. She had a stronger will than most people. Her “fight” has finally ended and now it is time to join her family who has already fought their battle. Dottie will be truly missed but never forgotten. She will forever hold a very special place in each of our hearts.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday Sept, 28,2013 in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Funeral will be private to family/close friends.
