August Viveiros Jr., age 94 of Fall River, passed away Sep. 16, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. He was the beloved husband of Alice (Ferreira) Viveiros and the son of the late August and Caroline (Cordeiro) Viveiros. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Prior to retiring, Gus was a truck driver for Pelletier Trucking, a member of the Teamsters Union Local 256, the VFW of Tiverton, Elks Lodge of Taunton, and the Royal Travelers of Fall River. August also enjoyed landscaping his property.
He was the father of the late Linda Marie Viveiros and the brother of the late Antone Viveiros and Mary Ferreira. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother: Joseph Viveiros of Fall River; nieces & nephews: William Viveiros of Fall River, Robert Viveiros of NH, Carolyn Mello of Somerset, Nancy Cote of Fall River, and Diane Azevedo of MA.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St, Fall River THURSDAY at 10:00 A.M. followed by a funeral service in the North Congregational Church, Wilson Rd., Fall River at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours on WEDNESDAY from 5-8 P.M.
