Obituary

LONGMEADOW – Frieda M. (Sadak) Condon, 93, a longtime resident of Longmeadow was Called Safely Home on Friday, September 13, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life from her home surrounded by her loving family, her very special friends, Gloria, Shekina and Denette, and by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on July 2, 1920, a beloved daughter of the late Michael E. and Mary (Daboul) Sadak. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the High School of Commerce and lived in the city for many years before moving to Longmeadow in 1959. During her early years, Frieda was employed at the former Springfield Armory and later at the Holyoke Dress Shop, both in Springfield. Frieda was known for her love of the Big E in West Springfield and each year she would purchase a pass that would allow her to attend every day during the event. Her family made sure that they did not schedule any other events during the fair, as they loved attending the fair with Frieda as she never missed a day. She was a loving woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. Active in her faith, she was a communicant of Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church in Springfield where she was a member of the Mount Lebanon Girls Club. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, James J. “Jack” Condon who was Called Home on June 20, 2004. They were married on Valentine’s Day February 14, 1956 at Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church and were blessed with over 48 years of happiness together. She was also predeceased by her beloved parents; her cherished infant daughter, Maryanne Condon who was Called Home on August 7, 1960; her loving brothers, Joseph M. Sadak, George M. Sadak, and Esper J. Sadak; and her loving sister, Rosemary Sadak Overson who was Called Home on June 27, 2011. She leaves her loving sisters, Sally M. Sadak and Marie A. Sadak, both of Longmeadow; her loving brother and sister-in-law, John M. Sadak and his wife, Colleen, of Longmeadow; her loving sisters-in-law, Freda Sadak of East Greenwich, RI and Elsine Sadak of East Longmeadow; and her many dear nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, great-grand nephews and great-grand nieces. Her family would like to thank the caring staff of Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice and especially her wonderful nurse, Brenda, for her many visits and excellent care she provided Frieda during her long journey home. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning, September 19, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 4 pm to 7 p.m. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118.
