Worcester – Jean-Guy Gallant, 64, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, September 11th in his home.
Guy was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Sylvie M. (Babineau) Gallant who died in 2011. He is survived by his son, Christopher G. Gallant and his wife Cynthia of Worcester; a daughter, Amy T. Millette and her husband Mark of Shrewsbury; a brother, Ronald Gallant of Leicester; 8 sisters, Fern Richard of Gardner, Geneva Deveau of Moncton, NB, Canada, Geraldine Bordage of Cherry Valley, Maria Richard of Moncton, NB, Canada, Huberte Thebeau of Irishtown, NB, Canada, Clarisse Thebeau of Worcester, Jeannita Bastarache of St. Paul, NB, Canada and Patricia Thebeau of St. Antoine, NB, Canada and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gallant was born in Moncton, NB, Canada, son of the late Abraham and Roseanna (Doiron) Gallant. After moving to the Worcester area as a child, Guy attended both Holy Name Grammar School and Holy Name High School. He furthered his education by earning an Associate’s Degree from Becker College and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Guy starting working at Plymouth Wire Reels and Dies as a die maker in 1970. In 1986 along with his brother, he purchased the company and was still an active partner until his passing. He enjoyed many things in his lifetime, however, some of the things that brought him the greatest enjoyment were, guitar playing, camping, and woodturning.
Family and friends are invited to the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. on Monday, September 16th from 4 to 7 PM. A service celebrating the life of Guy will be held at 7 PM in the funeral home. Guy will be laid to rest with his wife, Sylvie in Notre Dame Cemetery.
