Emmett Wilkerson, age 73, of Ambrose, GA passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Coffee Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Mr. Wilkerson was born November 9, 1939 to the late Henry Wilkerson and Maude Beatrice Floyd Wilkerson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheril Lynn Cliett Wilkerson.
Survivors include Three daughters: Melinda (Stacy) Phillips and Carol (Wade) Purvis both of Douglas, GA; Traci (Shane) Tawzer of Tifton, GA. two sons: Stephen (Katy) Wilkerson of Axson, GA and Jason Wilkerson of Ambrose, GA. two sisters: Mattie Wilkerson and Mary Wilkerson both of Douglas, GA. Ten grandchildren: Michael Wilkerson, Brian Bush, Jessica Wilkerson, Courtney White, Elisa Purvis, Austin Grimes, Elana Purvis, Denton Phillips, Keller Phillips, Kinsley Tawzer; four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 6 to 9 PM at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 16, 2013 at11:00 AM at Chapel of Sims Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mora Baptist Church Cemetery.
