Mrs. Rosalie M. (Demers) Fennelly, a lifelong resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Frederick H. Fennelly, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Thursday, September 12, 2013. She was 87 years old.
Born in Somerville on May 26, 1926, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edgar and Evelyn (Amero) Demers. Mrs. Fennelly graduated from Somerville High School. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed puzzles and was a wonderful cook. She loved to give out candy to everybody. Above all, Rosalie was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She will be very sorely missed by her loving children; Edward W. and his wife Denise M. Fennelly of Wilmington, Wayne F. and his wife Lucinda H. Fennelly of Manchester, New Hampshire, Janet F. Ray Tinkler and her Fiancee Rocco G. Cammarata of Billerica, Anne M. and her husband Scott R. McCarthy of Melrose, brothers; Douglas and his wife Betty Demers of Groveland and Richard Demers of Lynn, grandchildren; Kelly, Deborah, Karen, Jessica, Ariel, Sean, Ryan, Erin, William, Jamie, Eric, Daniel, Devin and Justin, Great grandchildren Dylan, Rosa Lee, Jake, Lauren, and Landon, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Karen A. Fennelly and sister of the late Philip Demers, Marilyn Hudson, Muriel Berte, Phyllis Demers, Charlene Zachko, Dorothy Reifschneider, Francis Demers, and her longtime friends Florence Friend and Pearl Hudson.
A graveside service was held on Friday, September 20, 2013, at 10 AM in Oak Grove Cemetery, 230 Playstead Road, Medford. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended.
