Marion E. La Pasta, 78

Marion E. (Albrecht) La Pasta, age 78, of Norton , formerly of East Williston, NY and Huntington, NY passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence after a brief illness.
She was the beloved wife of the late Donald La Pasta to whom she was wed for 49 years at the time of his death on August 28, 2004.
Born in Bronx, New York on July 28, 1935 she was a loving daughter of the late Walter and Eleanor (Hublitz) Albrecht.
Marion grew up in the Bronx and Elmont, New York and was a graduate of Sewanhaka High School.
After serving as a dedicated homemaker and raising her adoring family, Marion achieved her lifelong dream to become a Psychiatric Nurse. She retired following several years of work in Long Island, NY.
While living in New York, Mrs. La Pasta was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Greenlawn, NY.
Marion was an avid artist and enjoyed attending classes at the Huntington Art League. She had made her home in Norton for the past 6 ½ years. She was a supporter of arts and generously donated to many charitable organizations.
She loved times spent with family and will always be remembered for the love and kindness that she showed to animals.
She is survived by her devoted daughters Gail E. Gannotti of Huntington, NY and Linda L. Kiley and her husband Brendan of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of the late Walter and Arthur Albrecht and is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Theresa and Christina Gannotti and Christopher, Brian, Catherine and Kerry Kiley, her great granddaughters, Angelina and Juliana, as well as several generations of nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday, September 16th from 5:00- 8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
Visiting hours will also be held on Tuesday, September 17, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Brueggemann Funeral Home, 522 Larkfield Road, East Northport, NY.
Funeral from the Brueggemann Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 18, at 9:00 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 29 Northgate Drive, Greelawn, NY at 10:00 A.M.. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens, NY
