In Taunton, September 11, 2013 Elena Catherine Dennen, Age 85, passed away in the Life Care Center of Raynham following a lengthy period of failing health, while surrounded by her loving family. Elena was the wife of the late Robert J. Dennen. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Amedo & Fortunata (Palazzi) Alegi. Elena was a graduate of Taunton High School. She was a former communicant of the Annunciation of the Lord Church. Elena worked as a hairdresser and an assembler. Elena was a member of the Son’s of Italy and enjoyed yard sales, antiques and assisting with many civic and community organizations. Elena is survived by her loving children Alan R. Dennen, Robert A. Dennen both of Taunton, Timothy J. Dennen of Slana, Alaska and Susan M. Bradford of Sagamore. Her siblings Liberty Flannery, Prudence Smith and Ada Violette all of Taunton and her late brother Americo Alegi. Elena also leaves her grandchildren Jason Dennen of N.J., Layla Beale of FL., Heather Wakefield of Stoughton, Sheri Bradford of Weymouth, Seth Bradford of Pocasset, Hannah Dennen of Taunton, Kristen Bradford of Weymouth, Ian Dennen of Fall River and Kandace El of New Bedford. Elena also leaves her eight great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her special friend Kenneth Champagne of Raynham. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Monday, Sept. 16th at 10 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Annunciation of the Lord Church at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Sunday from 4-7 pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
