Francisco “Frank” S. Faria Sr., age 75 of Somerset, passed away at home on Wednesday, Sep. 11, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth-Ann (Costa) Faria. Born in Bretanha, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late Luiz S. and Maria daGloria (Rodriguez) Faria. Frank Sr. was the owner & operator of Faria Oil Co along with his sons since 1961. In 1976 he acquired his Airplane Pilots License, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Swansea, enjoyed vacationing, camping, and building anything & everything he could. He enjoyed servicing all of his faithful customers, and also shared his deep faith and love for the Lord with his family and all those he encountered.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his children: daughter Kathleen E. Fisher (husband) Allen of Somerset and their children: Michael, Ryan, Christopher (his wife Lauren); daughter Merilee J. Bowers of Somerset and her children: Brenden, & Samantha; son Frank S. Faria Jr. (wife Connie) of Somerset and their children: Miguel & Alex; son Paul L. Faria of Somerset and his children: Kevin, Nicholas, Matthew; sisters: Maria Natalia S. Monteiro of N. Dighton, Clara S. Garcia of Swansea, Anna Faria of E. Providence; many nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Peter S., Vosco S., Paul S., Raul S., Luis S., John S., and José S. Faria, Helena S. Crosslin.
A memorial service will take place on SATURDAY, Sep. 14, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River.
