Obituary

Leonard L. Dupont, 81, of New Bedford died September 11, 2013 at home after a long illness.
He was the husband of Doris D. (Côté) Dupont.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Ernest and Marie Rose (Peneau) Dupont and step-son of the late Alma (Bushman) Dupont, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Dupont was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
He was formerly employed as a meat cutter at Otis Air Force Base for 28 years until his retirement.
Mr. Dupont served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the American Canadian Association. Mr. Dupont was a former Boy Scout leader for Troop 5 at Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed playing cards and bowling.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Ernest Dupont and his wife Joan of Fall River; a daughter, Ann-Marie Levesque and her husband Marc of New Port Richey, FL; a brother, Armand Dupont of New Bedford; a sister, Therese Fredette of Connecticut.
He was the brother of the late Rene Dupont, Roland Dupont and Emilien Dupont.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Saturday, September 14th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday, September 13th 4-8 PM.
