Obituary

MacFarland, David I. Sr. 75 of Chelsea formerly of Revere, peacefully on Sept. 8, 2004 after a long battle with Parkinson’s and Diabetes. Beloved husband of the late June (Meade) MacFarland. Son of the late Harold S. MacFarland and Edith (Dadum) MacFarland of Foxboro. Devoted father of David Jr. and his wife Rhonda of Needham, Patricia Blake of Dover, NH, currently serving with the USAF in Kuwait, June Schulte and her husband Wilfred of Jericho VT, and Theresa Marks of Revere. Brother to his loving sisters Edith Landfear of Harrisonburg, VA, and Roberta Tucker of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dave was a New England Radio personality from 1947 until his retirement in 1998. Dave began his career in entertaining as an Army PFC in the 7702nd HQ and Service Battalion in Germany, where he was an entertainer for Army service shows. Through most of his radio career he used his own name; but could also be heard under the radio name of Dave Allen. Dave broadcasted from radio stations in Nashua and Dover NH, Woonsocket and North Kingstown RI and many local stations in Massachusetts. Country music was his favorite and his happiest moments were while working at WOTW in Nashua. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. A memorial will be held at a later date when the family can be together.
