New Bedford - Phyllis L. (Chace) Westgate, 85, of Freetown passed away September 9, 2013 at the New Bedford Health Care Center. She was the widow of George F. Westgate.
Mrs. Westgate was born in Freetown, daughter of the late Azel H. and Edna M. (DeMoranville) Chace, and resided in Freetown all of her life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting and quilting.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Janice L. Laventure and her husband, Roger, and Deborah A. Haworth and her husband, Geoffrey; a son: Gary G. Westgate and his wife, Lisa; 2 sisters: Marjorie Carrier and Mary Pittsley; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.
She was mother of the late Robert Westgate and sister of the late Eleanor Pittsley, Alice Westgate, Gertrude Chace and Harris H. Chace, Sr.
The family would like to thank the staff of the New Bedford Health Care Center for their great care and kindness.
