Evans, GA - Mrs. Betty Anne Trunnell Ringel, 87, of Evans died Monday, September 09, 2013 at home with the attendance of her children. She survived her husband LTC Eugene J Ringel, Ret.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 13, 2013 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Roverse celebrant. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ringel a native of Des Moines, Iowa; had been a resident of Augusta since 1969. She was an avid gardener, loved ball room dance, and remained involved with the Officers Wives Club for many years. Co-owner of Madonna's Village Florist, she served the Augusta area by decorating homes and provided floral needs to many prominent homeowners throughout the city and loved her many pets. She was a member of St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons: Eugene J “Butch” Ringel II, Martinez, Kenneth David Ringel, Cumming and John Randolph “Randy” Ringel of Social Circle; two daughters, Madonna R “Monnie” Munro, Acworth and Elizabeth R “Betsy” Usry, Smithville; and 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her 8 grandsons: Douglas Kahlan, Christopher Kahlan, Jeff Kahlan, Joseph Ringel, Taylor Fairey, Christopher Fairey, Zach Ringel, and Patrick Ringel.
The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. A prayer vigil for the deceased will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 4:30PM with Rev. Faustine Mosha celebrant. She will lie in repose with her husband in Westover Memorial Park.
