Carol A. Luchette, 59

Carol A. (Cucchi) Luchette, age 59, of Mansfield passed away in the comfort of her home, in the presence of her loving family, on Sunday, September 8, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Robert T. Luchette to whom she was wed on April 4, 1987.
Born in Springfield, MA on June 19, 1954, she was the loving daughter of Ercole W. and Claire L. (Lemelin) Cucchi of Chicopee.
Carol grew up and was educated in Chicopee. She was a graduate of Holy Name Grammar School and Holy Name High School. She furthered her education to become a graduate of Elms College in Chicopee and most importantly from UCONN where she received her masters degree in science.
Carol had worked as a Lab Manager and Cell Biologist at Perkin Elmer in Hopkinton for five years and had formerly been employed at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston for nine years.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 23 years, she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. Carol was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Celtics, and the Mansfield Hornets.
Her family was the focal point of her life. She was the number one fan of her daughter Krista, supporting her in every way throughout her basketball and softball sporting events. Her other interests included working out, staying fit, and weekend hikes with her family and dogs.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her devoted daughter, Krista E. Luchette of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of William E. Cucchi and his wife Nancy of Charlton and is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, September 12th at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will take place at a later date at Newton Cemetery in Newton.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 11th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
