FOSS, Nancy S. Age 83, a lifelong resident of Wellesley, passed away September 7, 2013, after a brief period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Ira C. Foss, Jr., and loving mother to Ira “Skip” III and his wife Susan, Frank and his wife Charlene, and Stephen and his wife Sarah. She is survived by her loving grandchildren, Frank, Jr., (Ann), Jennifer (Jess), Robert (Serena), Sharon (Greg), Jeffery (Cheryl), and Glen, and 2 great-granddaughters, Morgan and Amelia. Survived by her brother John Shaw of Texas, brothers-in-law David Foss and Peter Foss of Maine and many loving nieces and nephews.
Nancy was a secretary for many years at Wellesley High School and the U.S. Army Natick Lab Research Center. She served for multiple terms on the Board of Directors of the Wellesley Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union. She was a graduate of Lasell College, Newton. Nancy enjoyed gardening, photography, crafts, knitting and volunteering at SPIN and Pet World, and caring for the animals she adored. She had a great sense of humor and could carry on a conversation with anyone she met. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt.16), WELLESLEY on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, 3-6 pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial will be private.
