Obituary

TAUNTON – Susan A. (Fortier) Washington, wife of George F. Washington, died at her Taunton home on Sept. 4, 2013.
She was 70.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Ivor and Dorothy (Stevens) Fortier.
Raised and educated in Milton, she was a resident of Bridgewater for many years before moving to Taunton in 2011.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, Mrs. Washington was employed by Bridgewater’s former Fond Memories for several years.
She enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening, and animals.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a daughter, Melissa A. Washington of Taunton; a brother, Russell Fortier and his wife Cornelia of Westport, CT; a nephew, Richard Fortier of Westport, CT; and her best friend, Brenda Goodis of Norton.
She was also the mother of the late Michael P. Day.
Funeral Services were held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Village Plaza South, 473 South St. West, Unit 13, Raynham, MA 02767.
Arrangements are being handled by the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway at St. Mary’s Square, Taunton.
