Obituary

Stephen R. Opie, 54 of Danvers, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. He was the son of David W. and Jacqueline E. (Gingras) Opie.

Born in Lynn and raised in Danvers he was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of ’76 and he also attended Merrimack College. Stephen was a talented carpenter who became a construction contractor. In his free time he loved listening to ‘Blues Music’ and following the Boston sports teams. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Thomas D. Opie of Columbus, OH, and John M. Opie of Danvers. He is also survived by 2 nephews Kevin and Johnny Opie, a niece, Lauren Opie Harmon and her husband James and a grandniece, Sadie.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral mass on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers at 11:00 A.M. There will be no visiting hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
