Sandra F. (Pomare) Gamboa, age 68, of Norton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Gamboa, Jr.
Born in Panama on March 19, 1945, she was a dear daughter of the late Victor and Zina Pomare.
Sandy grew up in Panama until the age of 15 when her family moved to the United States and settled in Dorchester.
She finished her education in Dorchester and had also helped her family to raise and care for the many foster children they took into their home throughout the years. Sandra had also served in the United States Navy.

Sandy had made her home in Norton for over 40 years. She loved spending time with family and friends and had attended the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton.
Sandy was a very warm and caring person. She was always there to lend others a helping hand, and through her own personal loses found the faith to be strong and serve as a role model to others.

She was the cherished grandmother of Johnae Williams of Georgia, Bryce Modesty of Texas and the late Brianna Modesty.
