Florence Marie (Piascik) Zalinsky, 88, of Medfield, Massachusetts formerly of West Haven, Connecticut, died September 5 in the Tippett House in Needham. She was the wife of the late Walter Zalinsky.
Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, October 23, 1924, the daughter of the late Alexander and Anna (Fuchs) Piascik, Mrs. Zalinsky had lived in West Haven for most of her life prior to moving to Medfield 7 years ago.
An LPN, Mrs. Zalinsky had worked at the West Haven VA Hospital for many years before retiring.
She is survived by her children, Jo-Anne Szymaskiewiecz Dillman and her husband Warren Dillman of Norfolk, Walter Szyms and his wife Lorraine Szyms of Boca Raton, Florida and Bertrand Zalinsky and his wife Amy Zalinsky of Londonderry, New Hampshire.
She is also survived by her sister Ann Antonio of West Haven and was the sister of the late, Eva Czuchra, Elenor Denis, Joan Galluzi, Pauline Hutchins, Alexander Piascik, Edward Piascik, Josephine Savage and Mildred Swiderski.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Warren Scott Dillman and his wife Ann-Marie Dillman, Keri-Nicole Dillman and her husband Alex Hackman, Ali Szyms, Jamie Szyms and Brandon Zalinsky and her great-grandchildren, Trent Dillman, Ava Scudder and Adin Scudder.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday September 10 from the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main Street in Walpole at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Edward’s Church at 10:00.
Burial will be in Norfolk Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be on Monday from 5-8.
