Karleen M. Johnson, 60, of New Bedford died September 4, 2013 at home after a brief illness.
Born in Newport, RI, the daughter of the late Otis and Marie A. (Freeman) Johnson, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Survivors include 4 daughters, Kelly Johnson-Drew and her husband George Drew, Consuelo "Nickole" Johnson, Melissa "Missy" Johnson and Rachelle Johnson and her fiancé Michael Rodrigues; 3 brothers, Craig Johnson, Otis Johnson, Jr. and Terrance Johnson; a sister, Lisa Johnson-Bundy; a half-brother, Stuart Gomes; 2 half-sisters, Janice Gomes and Ginger Gomes; a host of friends including Gayle Jones and her husband Larry Jones and Lynne "Penny" Williams; 6 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was the half-sister of the late Bradley Gomes.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 9th at 10 AM in the Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church St., New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday, September 8th from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
