Obituary

Roland E. Lamirande, Jr., 68, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at his home in Salem.

He was born in Lawrence, MA, on July, 11, 1945 to Teresa (Levesque) and Roland E. Lamirande, Sr. He grew up and was educated in Lawrence. He was a resident of Salem for the past 17 years.

Before becoming ill, Roland was a fork lift operator for Crown, Cork, & Seal in Lawrence, MA for 9 years. He also worked for various cab companies in Lawrence and in the restaurant business as well. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Salem, NH.

Even though he was sick for many years, Roland always had a smile on his face and liked to joke around with his family. He enjoyed playing darts in a league with his friends, loved to fish and enjoyed watching the Patriots, Celtics Boston Red Sox, and hockey games on TV. He coached youth basketball and kids dart teams. Roland enjoyed taking his daughter Michelle and nephew Peter to ride in BMX races.

Wherever Roland, went his daughters were always by his side. He was a great father and grandfather, whom they will miss very much.

He was predeceased by his mother Teresa (Levesque) Lamirande, his children, Kevin, Christine, and David and his grandson Scott.

He is survived by his wife, the love of his life for 47 years, Sandra C. (Girard) Lamirande of Salem, NH

Daughters: Michelle Lamirande and her fiancé Francisco Almestica of Manchester, NH
Kelly Lamirande and companion Raul Delgado of Salem, NH

Father: Roland E. Lamirande, Sr.

Brother: Ronald Lamirande and his wife Rosemary of Methuen, MA

Sister: Doreen Bartlett and her companion Richard Mrozoski of Pelham, NH

Grandchildren: Jessica, Christian, Eian, Jocelyn, and Francisco Jr.

Several Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews and many cousins


Roland’s wishes were to be cremated. There are no calling hours.

A celebration of Roland’s life will be held Sunday Sept 8, 2013 at 2:00 at his home at 26 Cross Street, Salem, NH. Family and friends are welcome.
