Albina (Rodrigues) Arruda, 97, of New Bedford died September 4, 2013 at New Bedford Health Care Center.
She was the widow of the late John S. Arruda.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Teixeira) Rodrigues, she lived in New Bedford all her life.
Mrs. Arruda was formerly employed as a stitcher with several Local Textile Mills for many years until her retirement.
She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church.
Mrs. Arruda was a member of the Dartmouth Senior Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Dalton and her husband Mark of Acushnet; 2 grandchildren, Robert Samuel and David Arruda, both of Boston; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Bonita M. Samuel, and the sister of the late Mary Edwards, Augusta Martin and her twin Matilda L'Heureux.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 6th at 10 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Her family will receive guests on Friday morning from 9 - 10 AM prior to her service. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
