Obituary

Charles Melton "Buddy" Rogers passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 at his residence in Tallahassee.

A native of Fitzgerald, GA he was an active member of the united Methodist church on Central Avenue. Charles loved the state of Georgia and the Georgia Bulldogs. At his mountain home in Sautee, GA Charles enjoyed hiking and the changing of the seasons. He retired as a trouble shooter for Sprint Telephone Company.

Charles served in the Army National Guard and was a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans W.D. Mitchell Camp 163 in Thomasville, GA. A collector of antiques, he loved car shows and swap meets. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, and was crew chief for Top Dawg Hot Air Balloon.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carol Sikes Rogers, his daughter and son-in-law, Georgianna Hatch and her husband, George, his nephew, Robby Rathbun and his niece, Valynda Rathbun Nichols, his sister-in-law, Linda Sikes Thomas, and he was PawPaw to his precious granddaughter, Madison Hatch.

Graveside service will be held 10 am Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Big Bend Hospice or the American Cancer Society .
