PLYMOUTH, NH – Joseph “Joe” Dallon 89 of Salem, NH and longtime resident of Methuen, MA passed away Friday August 30, 2013 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH.
Born and educated in Haverhill, MA, he was the son of Joseph and Pauline (Krewscki) Dallon and was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School. During World War II Joe served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, received the Good Conduct Medal, the EAME Theatre Campaign Ribbon with 7 Battle Stars and was honorably discharged from service.
Joe retired in 1986 after 20 years as a District Service Manager with Volkswagen of America in Wilmington, MA. Prior to that he was employed with Harrison Park VW and West Street Motors in Lawrence. He was a lifetime member of the Methuen Knights of Columbus, the VFW of Salem, NH, an attendant of St. Monica’s Church and a scout leader with the Cub and Boy Scouts. He was very active in the Town of Methuen, serving on several boards and councils.
Joe was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Josephine ( Kondracki) Dallon. He is survived by his children, Thomas Dallon and his wife Roseanne of Methuen, Kathleen Eaton and her husband Richard of Marco Island, Florida Philip Dallon and his wife Sarah of Rumney, NH, Richard Dallon and his wife Sandra of Haverhill, Judith Riopelle and husband Mark of Methuen.
Thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was predeceased by his longtime companion Daisy Grzejka.
ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Heart Association 20 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01710. Family and friends are planning to gather on Friday from 10:00a.m. – 11:30a.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844, followed by a funeral service at 11:30a.m. at the funeral home with a burial in Elmwood Cemetery also in Methuen.
