WEBSTER – Carolyn M. (Manzi) O’Connell, 96, of Rural Route #4, died Monday, September 6, in Saint Vincent Hospital. Her husband of 34 years, John J. O’Connell, died in 1967.
She leaves two sons, Attorney James J. and his wife Janet O’Connell of Shawnee, Kansas, and Michael A. O’Connell of Webster; a daughter, Ann C. O’Connell of Webster; a brother, James Manzi of Webster; four sisters, Margaret Beresik of Putnam, CT, Rose Foley of Webster, Emily Desaulniers of Southbridge, and Dolores Manzi of Newton; two grandchildren, John and Matthew O’Connell, both of Missouri; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by nine brothers, Frank, Joseph, Frederick, Michael, Albert, George, Edward, John and Henry Manzi, and by three sisters, Edith, Julia and Lois Manzi.
She was born in Webster, the eldest daughter of Anthony and Benvenuta (Borrasi) Manzi and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. O’Connell was a member of Saint Louis Church. She was an avid reader. Above all, she loved her family and was truly loved by them.
The funeral will be held Saturday, September 11, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, September 10, at the funeral home.
