Fred Luke, 83, of Leesburg, died Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Heritage Healthcare in Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald with the Rev. Ray Lowe officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Luke was born August 7, 1930, in Fitzgerald to the late W.R. & Ruby Barnes Luke. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War Era. After being discharged, he worked at Martha Mill in Thomaston and Ayrs in Albany. He lived most of his life in Leesburg.
He is survived by a sister-in-law: Hazeleene Luke of Fitzgerald; several nieces and nephews including: Leila Mann, Pat & Ray King, Randolph & Beth Barnes, Michael Barnes, Regina & Tommy West, Greta Pye, Wanda Sumner, Ronnie Luke, Freddie & Jimmie Barnes and Gloria Luke. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Preston Luke, Cecil Luke, Emory Luke, Retha Barnes, Jack Luke, Alice Cox, Leona Luke, and Quincy Luke.
