Obituary

William J Willett a resident of Methuen mass died at his home peacefully as he wished, On Friday, August 30, 2013.
He was born in Lawrence Massachusetts on March 22, 1927 to Albert and Marian (Herlihy) Willett. He was a graduate of Central Catholic high school in Lawrence. Mr. Willett proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as a Land Surveyor for many years until his retirement.
He was a painter, gardener, and craftsman he was an avid Patriots and Red Sox Fan, he was known to have a sharp wit, and was an important part of his neighborhood and served as a mentor to many of the neighborhood children. Also a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Lawrence.
He was one of seven children in is survived by his two sisters Elizabeth Wright of Haverhill and Eileen LaFrance and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 9 AM and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass that will follow at 10:00AM on Monday, September 2, 2013 in St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Lawrence. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House 360 Merrimack St. Lawrence, MA, 01843.
