Obituary

Maureen Annese-Picard, 61, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 following a valiant battle with breast cancer.
Born in Boston in 1952, she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Mastrangelo) Annese of Danvers and the late Michael D. Annese. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School. She went on to graduate from the University of Lowell with a degree in nursing and later earned her nurse practitioner degree from Rivier College.
For many years, Maureen was employed as a registered nurse at the former Hunt Memorial Hospital, Salem Hospital, and in private practice. She worked as a nurse practitioner in the practice of Dr. Peter E. Masucci Pediatrics in Everett.
She was a loving and dedicated mother who always gave selflessly of herself. She was devoted to her family.
In addition to her mother, she leaves behind her two sons, Brant Picard of Ayer and Michael Picard of Danvers, a granddaughter, Carolin, her very dear and devoted friends Josep Alba, her cousin Donna Masucci and her husband Peter of Boxford, and a loving extended family and many dear friends.
Maureen’s family is grateful to the wonderful team of healthcare professionals who treated her with kindness, compassion, and skill during her illness.
Her Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 11AM in the Versailles Mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Monday from 3-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
