Obituary

DUDLEY - Mary L. (Mangan) Hencinski, 86, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 in Webster Manor after an illness. Her husband of 57 years, Theodore R. “Teddy” Hencinski, died in 2007.
She leaves a daughter, Jane E. Herrion and her husband James of Dudley; a son, James M. Hencinski and his wife Susan of Duluth, MN; a grandson, Christopher J. Herrion of Dudley; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Mangan of Webster. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John P. Mangan and Michael F. Mangan.
She was born in Dudley, the daughter of Michael and Mary (Galvin) Mangan and lived in Dudley most of her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1944.
Mary first worked as a bookkeeper at Webster Shoe and then at Bates Shoe Company. She was the secretary in the guidance department at Shepherd Hill Regional High School from 1973 until 1992, when she retired.
She was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Church. Active in her church, she had taught Christian Doctrine classes, served as a lector, and was a member of the liturgy committee as well as the bereavement committee. She served on the original Board of Directors of Joshua Place for several years. She was a past member of the Dudley Democratic Committee.
The family would like to thank the staff at Webster Manor, especially Mary’s “extended family” on the Slater Unit, for their care and comfort for her since last year.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, September 3, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road. Burial will be in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, September 2, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to Webster Manor Patient Activities Fund, 745 School Street, Webster, MA 01570.
