Obituary

Michael Richard Donovan, of Melrose, MA, formerly of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2013 at the age of 40. Michael was the beloved son of Gail Donovan of Brockton, and Richard Donovan of Quincy; loving brother of Tina Lucier-Machado, Brian Donovan, Kevin Donovan, Edward Donovan, Joseph Donovan and his wife Tiffany; beloved uncle to his nephews: Steven, Alek, Eamon, Patrick, Collin, and Acie; and the devoted friend of Joseph “Jay” Wayshak.

Raised in Brockton, Michael graduated from Brockton High School in 1991, and then attended the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He worked as a Risk Analyst/ERM at FHLB Boston.

Dearly loved by all who knew him, Michael lived life fully. His infectious laugh, radiant smile, and warm and giving heart touched the lives of many. Michael truly believed in, and lived by, the expression, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” He supported and volunteered for several charities; and, proudly mentored at-risk teens at The Waltham House. An avid Boston sports fan, Michael loved watching and attending games. Michael’s greatest gift was his ability to see the positive light of life. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday 3-8 pm. A procession will form from the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am for a funeral mass in Christ the King Parish at 10:30am. Cremation will follow.
