Wayne S. Ingham, 52, of Rochester died September 4th, 2004 at sea after his fishing vessel, Nancy Christine, was lost at sea.
He was the former husband of Christine M. (Johnson) Ingham.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late George and Loretta (Levesque) Ingham, he lived in Rochester most of his life.
Mr. Ingham was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fairhaven.
He was the co-owner and captain of the F/V Nancy Christine for many years.
Mr. Ingham was a Little League coach in Rochester for 9 1/2 years and volunteered numerous hours to the construction and maintenance of the baseball fields in Rochester.
He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his former wife; his loving companion Gayle; 2 sons, Chad Ingham of New Bedford and Shane Ingham of Dartmouth; a brother, Bruce W. Ingham of Fairhaven; a niece, Stacy Ingham; 6 nephews, Bruce G. Ingham, Peter Johnson, James Copeland, Duane Johnson, Michael Johnson and Kevin Johnson; 2 godchildren, Lani Quintin and Erin Desrochers; 3 cousins, Sandra Jones, Frank DeMarchi and Joe DeMarchi.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service in the Seamen's Bethel Sunday, September 12th at 11 AM.
Visiting hours are omitted.
Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in his name may be made to the Seamen's Bethel, 15 Johnny Cake Hill, New Bedford, MA 02740.
A service for his crew member, Michael J. Leonardo, Sr., will be held at a later date.
