Obituary

COCHITUATE: Deborah J. “Debbie” (Kadlik) Koulalis, 63, died peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham following a period of declining health.
She was born in Natick on September 30, 1949 the daughter of the late Stephen F. Kadlik, Jr. and Jean L. (Marchetti) Kadlik.
Debbie was the beloved wife for 45 years of the late John N. Koulalis, Sr who died on August 2, 2013.
She is survived by her loving and devoted son, Steven J. Koulalis of Sudbury and the late John N. Koulalis, Jr. who died in October of 2003. Grandmother of Justin Koulalis of Sudbury and Sgt. Kevin Higgins and his wife Delaney of Fort Benning, GA. Great grandmother of Katrina Higgins of MN. Debbie was the sister of Patricia A. Kadlik of Cochituate; Stephen F. “Stubby” Kadlik, III and his wife Gail Kadlik of Medway and Richard J. Kadlik of Cochituate. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Debbie has been a lifelong resident of Cochituate and graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1967. She attended Bryant and Stratton College in Boston. For over 30 years, she was a waitress at Mel’s Commonwealth Café in Cochituate. Debbie was also associated as a sales clerk at the Farm Stand of Wayland and with the Wayland Apothecary for several years. Debbie was a loving, warm and devoted person who always put the needs of others before herself. She took care of those around her, loved animals and especially enjoyed time spent in her flower garden. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Koulalis family lot in Lakeview Cemetery, Route 30, Cochituate.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that memorial gifts in her memory may be sent to the Perkins School for the Blind, 175 North Beacon St, Watertown, MA 02472 or to the Gifford School, 177 Boston Post Road, Weston, MA 02493.
