WORCESTER-Elleen M. (Carey) Tufts, 56 of 47 Delawanda Drive, died Tuesday, March 12th in Oakwood Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Webster after an illness. She leaves her daughter Amie M. Tufts with whom she lived; 3 brothers Raymond Carey of Leicester, Benjamin Carey of Spencer and Robert Carey of Worcester; 3 sisters Mary Lauzier of Ware, Dorothy Aubin and Elizabeth Hogan both of Worcester; her former husband, Douglas Tufts of Worcester; many nephews & nieces.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Benjamin and Margaret (Slaney) Carey and lived here for all of her life. Ms. Tufts was a home healthcare attendant for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.
The funeral will be Friday, March 15th with a 10:00 AM Mass in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Building Fund, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, is directing arrangements.
