Obituary

Vincent D. Puglia passed away on August 25, 2013. He was 92 years old.

Vincent was a longtime resident of Melrose. He worked for many years for Poloroid Corp. as a lead plumber. Vincent was an avid golfer and loved ballroom dancing, square dancing, and gardening. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and was a member of the Italian American Club in Peabody and the VFW in Melrose.

Vincent was the devoted husband of 69 years to Rose (Spadafora) Puglia. He was the beloved father of Vincent Puglia Jr. and his wife Charlene of Plymouth and Paul Puglia of North Carolina. Vincent was the dear brother of Rose Mastro, Esther Marcott, Lee Puglia and the late Carlo and Ugo Puglia, Mary Amato and Umberto Puglia. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday, Aug. 30th at 11:30 a.m. A visiting hour will be held prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Wyoming cemetery, Melrose.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Vincent’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
