Earl Edman Reed

Earl Edman Reed, 74, of Anderson died unexpectedly on August 24, 2013 at IU Health West in Avon, IN.

Earl was born August 18, 1939 in Lutesville, Missouri to William Earl and Naomi (McAdoo) Reed.

He served in the US Air Force during Vietnam from 1962 to 1966.

He was a printer at Warner Press and Church of God World Service for 43 years before retiring in 1999.

He attended East Side Church of God.

He loved to play softball, watch his grandchildren at sporting events; enjoyed camping and gospel music concerts.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patricia (Beckett) Reed of Anderson whom he married August 2, 1958 in Anderson, IN; his two sons, Stephen Earl (Marcie) Reed of Avon; Scott Patrick (Chrislyn) Reed of Anderson; his daughter, Tamara Lynne (Reed) Rust of New Castle; his brother, Nolan Eugene (Judy) Reed of Sun City West, AZ; six grandchildren, Amanda (Derek) O'Brien and Erika Elaine Reed all of Avon, Brady Scott Reed and Blaine Scott Reed of Anderson; Andrew William Rust and Adam Joseph Rust both of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Merle Edward Reed and his sister Shirley (Reed) Wright.

Service will be 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Dr. Kerry Robinson of East Side Church of God officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Burial of cremated remains will be in East Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to East Side Church of God Youth Ministries or Kingsway Christian Church Teen Mission in Avon, IN.
