Mary C. (Constantine) Saba, 84, of New Bedford died Monday September 6, 2004 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late George J. Saba.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Shickralla and Karimee (Soloman) Constantine, she had lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Purgatory Church in New Bedford, where she was a member of St. Joseph's Sodality.
Mrs. Saba was formerly employed as a supervisor at Continental Screw Company.
She was a member and past president of the Catholic Women's Club and the American-Lebanese Veterans Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Annemarie Saba Espindola, and her husband Steven, of New Bedford; five sons, Mark D. Saba, and his wife Patti, of Alpharetta, Georgia, Steven J. Saba, and his wife Debbie, of East Freetown, George M. Saba, and his wife Mary Jane Murray, of Fairhaven, Peter C. Saba of New Bedford, and Michael J. Saba, and his wife Lisa, of Norton; a brother, Dr. David F. Constantine of New Bedford; two sisters, Barbara A. Nobrega of New Bedford and Theresa B. Fay of West Palm Beach, Florida; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Phoebe Assiff, Atty. George D. Constantine, Habee L. Constantine and Louis C. Constantine.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordFriday September 10, 2004 at 9 AM.Divine Liturgy at Our Lady of Purgatory Church at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday September 9, 2004 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
