Mrs. Juanita S. Deese, 89, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, August 24, 2013, at Phoebe Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, August 26, 2013, in The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Arbor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Deese was born October 10, 1923, in Fitzgerald to the late Clarence Herman & Pearl Haskins Sherrill. A graduate of Fitzgerald High School, she also attended business school. She was retired customer service representative for General Telephone. She was a member of Arbor Baptist Church. Mrs. Deese loved to cook and enjoyed sewing and embroidery. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her two sons: Donnie Frank Deese and Robert & Mary Deese, all of Fitzgerald; three granddaughters: Lynn & Micheal Dawson, Melissa Wilder and Marcy Deese; and five great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Boggus, Kasee Boggus, Kory Boggus, Kyler Boggus, and Kelsie Dawson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Frank Deese; a sister: Thelma Pickens; and three brothers: Herman Sherrill, Wayne Sherrill, and C.E. “Bubba” Sherrill.
