SOMERSET – Alice M. (Ferreira) Dumenigo, wife of Joseph Dumenigo of Somerset, died at Marian Manor on Aug. 23, 2013.
She was 86.
Born in North Dighton, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Pestana) Ferreira.
A graduate of Dighton High School, Mrs. Dumenigo owned and operated Dumenigo Enterprises for over 35 years, before retiring several years ago.
She enjoyed gardening and dancing; and was especially fond of children.
She also enjoyed oil painting, and will be remembered as a great artist.
In addition to her husband of sixty-seven years, she leaves two sons, Wayne F. Dumenigo and his companion Holly Hathaway of Dighton, and Steven Dumenigo and his wife Felda of Dighton; three sisters, Hilda Brown and Dolores King, both of Dighton, and Shirley King of Taunton; three grandchildren, Matthew, David and Daniel; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Irene Avila, and the sister of the late Mary Medeiros, Irene Pinto and Dorothy Buckley.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Aug. 27th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church, Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Aug. 26th from 5 to 8 p.m.
