Obituary

Mr. Robert G. Gaumond, 89, of Manchester, NH died Thursday at Ridgewood nursing center in Bedford, NH. Born in Lawrence, MA, Mr Gaumond had been a Merrimack Valley resident all his life. He lived in Haverhill MA, Merrimac, MA and finally in Manchester, NH. He is a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army Mr. Gaumond fought at the Battle of the Bulge in the European, African, Middle Eastern theater. He retired from Western Electric where he worked as a cable former. Mr. Gaumond attended St. Lucy Church, was a member of American Legion Post 134 in Merrimac, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Son of the late Albert and Alice (Boucher) Gaumond Robert is survived by one daughter: Marianne and her husband Warren Carroll of Merrimac, MA, one son: Eric Gaumond and his wife Nancy of Manchester, NH, one Brother Roger L. Gaumond of Haverhill, MA. There are four grandchildren, Krista (Carroll) Duston and her husband Robert of Merrimac, MA, Jason Carroll of Merrimac, MA , Nicole (Gaumond) Pizon of Hampton, NH, Jillian (Gaumond) Clement and her husband Thomas of Pine Mountain, GA, there are 4 Great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Berube-Comeau funeral home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 am at St. Lucy Church in Methuen, burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
