Obituary

ROBERT E. RICHARDS – in Plymouth, formerly of Weymouth, Alton Bay, NH, and Naples, FL passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 23 following a long illness at his home in Plymouth. The beloved husband of Beverly A. (Smith) Richards, he was eighty- three years of age.

Born in Braintree, Bob was the son of the late Luther R. and Ernestine P. (Bienvenia) Richards of Braintree. Bob was a Korean War veteran in the United States Navy. He was a retired member of Local 25 Teamsters Union in Boston. He also retired as Assistant Director of Environmental Services at Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. Bob enjoyed giving his time to several organizations including, as a charter member of the Knights of Columbus #502, Asst. Manager of the St. Francis Xavier Drum and Bugle Corp, Weymouth. Bob served the Boy Scouts of America as an Assistant Scout Master for Troop #8 in Weymouth and a Scout Master for Troop #270 in Plymouth and was a member of the American Legion.

He is lovingly survived by his wife Beverly and their children, Catherine L. Naidoo of Plymouth, Cheryl A. Stone of Naples, FL, Robert M. Richards and his wife Jennifer of Bourne, MA, Mark S. Richards and his wife Christine of Plymouth, MA, David C. Richards and his wife Denise of Buzzards Bay, and Keith M. Richards and his wife Glenda of Plymouth, MA. Dear brother of Barbara Casey of Braintree, MA., his grandchildren, Jayson Naidoo, Robert Naidoo, Gary Stone, Cindy Malaguti, Christopher Richards, Michael Richards, Holly Richards, Taylor Richards, Steven Richards, Jeffrey Richards, Diana Richards, Davison Richards, James Richards, and Caroline Richards. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held at Richard Davis Funeral Home on 373 Court St (Rte 3A). in N. Plymouth, MA on Tuesday August 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha 126 South Meadow Road, Plymouth, MA. On Wednesday August 28, at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the Vine Hills Cemetery Plymouth, MA. Donations may be made in Mr. Richards memory to Hospice of The South Shore 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA
