MARSHFIELD - Evelyn (Kitson) Gorham, 87, of Marshfield passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 21st, surrounded by her loving family and devoted husband of 65 years, Elmer K. Gorham. She is predeceased by her younger brother Thomas Kitson of Pembroke, with whom she was very close. Called "Manya" affectionately by her grandchildren first, and later by the rest of her family, Evelyn was the life of the party. Her laugh instantly warmed every room she entered and facilitated fast friendships. She loved the beach, flowers, humming birds, world travel and her favorite soap, "Days of Our Lives."
She is fondly remembered for her zest for life and wealth of knowledge, as well as for her selflessness and devotion to her daughter Sandra, son Bruce and his wife Cathy; and her four grandchildren, Gregory Gorham, Jeffrey Gorham, Stephanie Burke, and Matthew Burke, as well as countless family members and life-long friends. Evelyn's legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren, whom she raised to have integrity, a respect for others and a love of life.
Services will be held Monday, August 26, at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Rte. 139 in Marshfield, with visiting hours between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. followed by burial at Couch Cemetery in Marshfield. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
