THOMAS, Evelyn Palmer (Araby) August 22, 2013, age 100. Born in Dedham, March 13, 1913. Lifelong resident of Dedham, residing in Norwood the past five years. Beloved wife of the late Richard G. Thomas. Devoted mother of Richard C. Thomas and his wife Joanne of Foxboro and the late Deberah Ryan. Grandmother of Deberah, DiMartino of Foxboro, Clayton Ryan of Holliston, Kim Raubenheimer of Belmont and Heidi Michaud of Franklin. Great-grandmother of Christopher and Matthew DiMartino, Emma, Hailey and Lindsey Ryan, Camryn Michaud and Jake and Tyler Raubenheimer. Sister of Barbara D’Attilio and her husband Carmen of Dedham and the late Joseph and Charles Araby and Katherine Arena. Daughter of the late Charles and Barbara Araby.
From an early age Evelyn loved sewing and made it her profession becoming an accomplished seamstress and dress designer for almost 50 years. She made most of her own clothes. She was a world traveler having traveled to every continent including Russia, China, India, the Nordic countries as well as every major city in Europe.
Funeral Service in the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St. DEDHAM, Monday, August 26 at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Sunday, August 25 from 4-8 pm. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
