Obituary

Robert A. Lussier of Manchester peacefully passed away August, 21, 2013, following a long period of declining health.
Born on January 17, 1920 in Goffstown, he was one of ten children born to Emery and Rose (Ledoux) Lussier. His high school education was cut short as he went to work for the Manchester International Shoe factory to help support their large family. There he met his future wife and married Mildred Charest on September 21, 1940. Three years later he was drafted and proudly served the US Army in Germany during World War II. After his discharge he continued to work in several different shoe factories, each with more responsibility, until he was plant manager in Belfast, ME.
Bob retired early, moved to Florida and spent time with his sister and nephews who lived in the area. Later he moved to California to be with his daughter, grandson, and great grandchildren. In 1983 he moved back to Manchester, bought a condo, and performed maintenance on that building, along with the pool, in his spare time. He also taught line dancing and gave many demonstrations. On Saturdays he would get together with family and play penny ante card games. Then on Sundays, he and Millie would serve as Eucharistic Ministers at St. Marie church. He was extremely talented, multi-faceted, and always had a good word for everyone. He will be missed by all.
Bob is survived by his wife Millie, of almost 73years, and his 4 children, Armand Lussier and wife Sandra of Nashua, Pauline Born and husband Gene of Idaho, Maurice Lussier and wife Carla of Hudson, Ronald Lussier and wife Mary of Maine; two sisters, Jeanne Larochelle and Sr. Noella Lussier; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by seven of his siblings.
The family would like to thank the Courville group and the VNA team for the exceptional care they provided our Dad in his final days.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday, August 26, 2013 at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave, Manchester. Burial followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
