Obituary

ANDOVER: Frank Sheewan Woo, 65, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 18, 2013 in Poland, Maine. He was the devoted husband of Laraine Lellman Woo with whom he shared 38 years of marriage.
He was born in Canton, China on June 16, 1948. Frank grew up in Hong Kong and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1964 at the age of sixteen. Frank and his wife, Laraine, have spent 34 joyous years raising their three daughters in their home on Jenkins Road in Andover.
Frank was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham High School and continued on to Northeastern University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Mathematics. He then went on to receive an MBA from Boston University. Frank was employed at Softlinx in North Reading as President and Chief Operating Officer for the past fifteen years. Prior to his distinguished career at Softlinx, he had also worked at Gillette, General Electric, Computer Associates and Lotus. Frank held several U.S. patents in the area of integrated multimedia messaging.
Frank and his family loved to spend time at their summer home in Maine. He was an active man who relished the time he spent outdoors, whether it was boating, sailing, hiking or going for his daily morning walk with Laraine. Frank traveled often for business and also for pleasure with his family. One of his most memorable trips was returning to China and Hong Kong with his family where they visited the village where he was born and the neighborhoods where he spent his early life.
Above and beyond his professional successes, his devotion to his wife and three daughters are what truly enriched him as a person and made his life complete. He was known to be humorous, brave and able to take on any challenge, but selfless best describes the type of man that he was. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
