Kenneth Edward Vachon, 80, of Manchester, died September 4th, 2004 at Dartmouth Hitchcock, Lebanon after a brief illness.
He was born in Manchester on April 17, 1924, the son of Arthur J. and Janet M. (Foley) Vachon. He was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Manchester High School Central, Class 1943.
During WWII, he served in the US Navy.
Until his retirement, he had been employed as a clerk by the NH State Liquor Store located on I-93 South in Hooksett. Prior to that, Mr. Vachon had been employed for over 30 years by Larry’s Manhattan Clothing Shop.
He was a member of American Legion Post 79 and the USS Block Island Association. He was also a Member of the League of 1000 Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood.
He was a longtime parishioner of St. Augustin Church.
Members of his family include his wife of 55 years, Marcelle (Marsolais) Vachon of Manchester; Two sons, Kenneth R. Vachon and David A. Vachon, both of Manchester; One daughter, Mrs. Russell (Karen) Bellemare of Plano, TX; Seven grandchildren; Three great-grandchildren; One brother, Robert P. Vachon of Bedford; One sister, Marlene DeFrancesco of Dover, DE; Many nephews and nieces.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Augustin Church on Friday September 10, 2004. Encryptment followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum.
