Harriet J. (Coslett) Weiss, 85, of Medway died August 17 in the Newton Wellesley Center for Alzheimer Care. She was the wife of the late James M. Weiss who died in 1996.
Born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, November 11, 1927, the daughter of the late Jesse and Alice (Searfoss) Coslett, Mrs. Weiss was raised and had lived in Wilkes Barre until moving to Medway in 1962.
Mrs. Weiss had been an office clerk for GTE in Needham for several years before her retirement. She had previously worked in the Medway High School cafeteria.
Harriett had been an active member and contributor at the Medway Community Church. She was an avid camper and belonged to a local camping club.
She had also been active in the Girl Scouts, enjoyed gardening and putting up preserves. A dog lover, she especially loved shelties.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Weiss and his wife Sharon of Hopedale and John Weiss of Worcester.
She is also survived by her sister Ethel Warmouth of Enfield, Connecticut.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 20 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street in Medway at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Medway.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:00 in the funeral home.
