DOWNEY, Michael F. of Dedham and West Dennis, August 17, 2013. Beloved husband of Anne “Cookie” (Sullivan) Downey for 38 years. Devoted father of Michael Downey and his wife Kelley of Dedham, Brian Downey and his wife Marie of Westwood, Shamus Downey and his fiance Kelly Bodio of Westwood and Caitlin Kane and her husband Christopher of Dedham. Grandfather of Molly, Brigid, Maggie, Eamon, Rylan and Christopher. Brother of Jim Downey and his wife Ginny of Canton, Kay Fritz and her husband Larry of Abington, Ann Williams and her late husband Walter of Dedham and the late Maureen Mannion and her surviving husband Dermot of West Roxbury. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Michael was the CFO Emeritus of the New England Center for Children in Southborough. Graduate of Bentley College. Former Commodore of the West Dennis Yacht Club.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St. DEDHAM, Wednesday, August 21 at 8 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church, Dedham at 9 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Tuesday, August 20 from 4-8 pm. Interment private.
