Nellie Geneva Drewicz, who resided at Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield, passed away on August 15, 2013. Born and raised in Lynn, MA, Nellie was the daughter of the late Walter and Geneva Drewicz and loving sister of the late Edna S. Cowan, Alphonse Drewicz, and Pat (Cassie) Drewicz, all of Lynn and Nahant.
She is survived by her nephew, Judge William J. Cowan of Laguna Nigel, California; and two nieces, Dr. Carole A. Cowan of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, and June Cowan of Parish, Florida; and five grandnephews and nieces, Joseph McGrath of Nahant, Regina Cowan of Wilmington, Jonathan Cowan of Medford, Kevin Napierski of Los Angeles, California and Laura McGrath of Camden, Maine, as well as four great-grandnephews and nieces.
She worked for the Hoague Sprague Corporation in Lynn, Massachusetts, as an office worker for her entire career and was a member of St. Michael’s Church. During the last six years, she was a resident of the Masconomet Healthcare Center, where she led a happy, active life while serving as President of the Center’s Resident’s Council.
