Ivy John Istre, Jr., 46, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Thursday, August 15, 2013, in Tift County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Ty Ty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Istre was born October 25, 1966, in Lyons Point, Louisiana, the only child of the late Ivy John and Carolyn Tiller Istre. He moved to Irwin County 20 years ago. He was an armored guard with Loomis and enjoyed deer hunting. He was of the Catholic faith and dearly loved his family.
He is survived by his wife: Ann Istre of Irwin County; three sons: Ivy John Istre, III, Jared Wesley Istre and Zachary Tyler Istre, all of Irwin County; father and mother-in-law: Marion & Virginia Blankenship of Irwin County; sisters-in-law: Pamela & Jeffrey Skaggs and Marian Leslie Blankenship; two nieces: Courtney Justine Blankenship and Cassidy Danielle Blankenship; as well as his wife’s grandfather: George Thompson of Ty Ty.
